As the X1 Carbon 4th Gen neither has an ExpressCard slot nor a Thunderbolt port, it doesn't make sense to attach an external GPU as you would have to to remove the bottom cover to attach the eGPU to an M.2 port. We'll see if the X1 Carbon 5th Gen will have a Thunderbolt 3 port
