How do you delete archived emails in outlook

Hi I have used thunderbird a long time now but I changed jobs recently and it wont let me delete the archived emails, these are not in my InBox but in the memory. I have tried deleting trash and trash.msf, I tried reinstall, I tried back up with new files only but it keeps reinstalling all my emails from 2006 they dont show in veiw but do when I search for something. They are now causing me to
